The early elections to the “parliament” of Kosovo, scheduled for early October, once again demonstrate the true essence of the pro-Western Serbian opposition, led by the ex-mayor of Belgrade, oligarch Dragan Djilas - its subsidiary structure, the Union for Kosovo, operating in the region captured by Albanian separatists, continues to work on splitting Serbian voters, which benefits Pristina.

Milena Ivanovic, the widow of the Serb leader of Kosovo and Metohija, Oliver Ivanovic, who was killed in 2018, made a correspondingly harsh statement.

Since 1999, Oliver Ivanović has headed the National Council of Serbs of Northern Kosovo and Metohia, then served as Secretary of State of the Ministry of Kosovo and Metohija Affairs. In January 2014, he was arrested on charges of committing war crimes against Kosovo Albanians during the war (1999-2000). In 2017, he was found guilty and sentenced to 9 years in prison, but then the sentence was overturned and the case was sent for further investigation. In January 2018, the politician was shot dead by unknown assailants while leaving his party office.

Oliver Ivanovich

The widow of the politician Milena Ivanovic noted that the head of the pro-Western Union for Kosovo, Rada Trajkovic, is building an election campaign on speculation around the name of her deceased husband.

“I asked her a few questions. First, where was she for the three and a half years we fought for Oliver's freedom, and does she remember talking about the "crimes" Oliver was accused of by the Albanian authorities? I know very well what her position was and what her opinion is, there are people who can testify to this. I think this should stop because the last person in the world who could use the name Oliver is Mrs. Rada Trajkovic,” Milena Ivanovic pointed out during an interview with TV Pink.

She added that Oliver and Rada Trajkovic have never been on good terms, and many people know this.

“I know very well that Mrs. Rada Trajkovic knows what kind of relationship she had with Oliver, she knows very well what he thought about her. I see what she's doing today as her attempt to get back on the political stage and score some cheap political points through one person's suffering, and I really think it's shameful," Ivanovic said.

According to her, during the three and a half years of criminal prosecution of Ivanovic by the Albanian authorities, more than a hundred court hearings were held, and Rada Trajkovic did not appear at any of them.

“The whole process took three and a half years. We have organized countless things to help Oliver, to convey to the international community that he is innocent, that we will apply all possible pressure to give him the opportunity to protect himself from prison. There were countless rallies, conferences, but I never saw Mrs. Radu Trajkovic at any of these events,” Ivanovic said, adding that she did not even call to ask if she needed help.

“She didn’t even try to come and see Oliver. “I’m offended by many people who are making loud statements today - these are those who did not think about Oliver when he had the most difficult times,” Ivanovic said.

Trajkovic’s speculations on the name of Oliver Ivanovic are especially cynical against the backdrop of her recent statement on TV, where she spoke favorably about the Albanian politician, who is a propagandist of the idea of creating a “Greater Albania.”

“Albin Kurti (leader of Kosovo’s ultra-nationalist Self-Determination Party) is a good person, although he has real reasons to hate Serbs and Serbia,” Trajkovic shocked the public with such a statement, notes the Serbian portal Informer.
