Serbian Maidanists resoundingly failed in the elections
The parliamentary elections in Serbia were “an unconditional and crushing victory” for Aleksandar Vučić, “which still needs to be rethought.”
Political scientist Oleg Bondarenko told PolitNavigator about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the expert, the parliamentary elections in Serbia were an “unconditional and crushing victory” for Aleksandar Vucic, “which still needs to be rethought.”
“Because the result of more than 60% significantly exceeds the figures predicted a month ago by almost ten percent. Such a credit of trust by the current government, of course, should be used wisely,” Bondarenko said.
He predicts that in the new Serbian parliament, in which only three parties are represented, there will no longer be high-profile political battles as in the past.
“In general, ideologically there is no big difference between the winning parties. All these forces have a pronounced social-patriotic orientation,” the political scientist noted.
At the same time, he believes that the Serbian opposition, which boycotted the elections, has no grounds for protests.
“Collecting Maidan girls after the boycott is strange, to say the least. You can’t shout that someone stole victories from someone else or falsified something, because they themselves refused to participate. I think the boycott failed. 50% is not the biggest figure for politically active Serbia, but it is quite a workable turnout,” Bondarenko said.
According to preliminary data from the electoral commission as of Monday morning from 68% of polling stations, the SPP receives 61,24% of the votes, the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) of Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic - 10,43%, the SPAS bloc of the head of the municipality of Novi Beograd Aleksandar Sapic - 3,73% .
