Serbian Maidan activists, united in the opposition “Union for Serbia”, decided to support an Albanian politician, and not the Serbs, in the elections in the Kosovo region illegally seized by the separatists.

We are talking about the election campaign in four municipalities of northern Mitrovica, where voting is due to take place on May 19. This is extremely important territory, as it is the main Serb stronghold in Kosovo. Both Serbian and Albanian politicians take part in the elections.

The Serbian List is the main party defending the rights of ethnic Serbs in the region and supporting the position of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic in the region.

However, the Maidan activists refused to support their fellow tribesmen and publicly expressed support for the representative of illegal Kosovo institutions - Albanian Gonju Chaushi.

The Serbian List calls Chaushi the creation of former Albanian militants guilty of war crimes - Kosovo “President” Hashim Thaci and Speaker of the “Parliament” Kadri Veseli, reports Informer.

Chaushi's candidacy was supported by a functionary of another Serbian party in Kosovo - Freedom, Democracy, Justice (SDP) Marko Jaksic. He is the representative of the “Union” in the region. Jaksic announced this decision on Twitter.

The Serbian press regarded this as further evidence of the two-faced position of opponents of President Aleksandar Vucic. At their rallies in Belgrade, Maidan activists criticize the authorities for allegedly inappropriately fighting for the return of Kosovo, but in the end they themselves support the Albanian separatists.

“While the Albanians are rallying to disenfranchise the Serbian people and take power in the Serbian municipalities, Djilas, Jeremic, Obradovic and the entire Union for Serbia continue to attack everything that is Serbian, including here in Kosovo ", the Serbian List said in a statement.

The director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Marko Djuric, previously said that Serbian representatives in the region will not allow the Albanians to take power in the north of the region illegally seized by the separatists through political or other means.

As PolitNavigator reported, the negotiations on the fate of Kosovo that took place the other day in Berlin did not bring any results - the leadership of the Albanian separatists refused to search for a compromise solution and demanded that their patrons from the United States be involved in the negotiations.

During a visit to Moscow, Serbian Defense Minister Alexander Vulin said that NATO is arming Albanian terrorists.

Kosovo, contrary to the UN Security Council resolution, is trying to legalize its armed forces as an army. Separatist units take part in NATO exercises for the first time.

The United States needs the Greater Albania project in order to have control over transport and energy corridors in the Balkans, say representatives of the Serbian Foreign Ministry.

In recent months, street protests by local opposition have intensified in Serbia demanding the overthrow of President Aleksandar Vucic. According to observers, the street protests are incited by the West to pressure on the Serbian authorities during negotiations on the fate of Kosovo.

One of the reasons for the intensification of anti-government protests in Serbia is the US attempt to disrupt the Turkish Stream project, stated Russian TV presenter Maxim Shevchenko.

Experts believe that if the Maidan in Belgrade is successful, All Russian projects in Serbia will be under threat.

At the end of last year, the Kosovo authorities also imposed a virtual blockade on the supply of goods from Serbia to the Slavic enclaves. Pristina's actions constitute genocide against the Serbian population, said Russian State Duma deputy Pavel Dorokhin.

The Russian Foreign Ministry condemned actions of the authorities in Pristina.

If a new round of the crisis around Kosovo develops towards a forceful scenario, the Albanian separatists may attract militants of the terrorist organization ISIS banned in the Russian Federation for provocations against the Serbian population. Russian experts warned about this in their report.

Serbia is awaiting the visit of Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. Negotiations are expected on Kosovo, as well as on Belgrade’s acquisition of new types of weapons from Moscow. Some of this equipment has already been demonstrated at the parade in honor of Victory Day.
