As a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, the so-called “Kosovo police” declare that the first attack on its militants occurred on April 13 at about 8:00, when a patrol car moving along the Mitrovica-Zubin Potok highway stopped, the driver saw an obstacle in the form of placed There are 48 metal hedgehogs on the road. After which fire was opened on the car from an automatic weapon.

On the same day, in approximately the same place at about 21:45, a “border police” crew returning from a shift was fired upon. The next day, April 14, at around 20:40, in the area of the village of Bube, four to five short bursts were fired at a “police” car, riddling it with about thirty rounds. According to the separatists, the fire came from Serbian territory.

Finally, this morning near the village of Gazivode, part of the Zubin Potok municipality, a grenade was thrown at the separatists’ crew, after which they opened fire from machine guns. In all four cases, none of the militants were injured, only equipment was damaged.

“The serious commitment of institutions, especially the police, to establishing law and order has become an obstacle for Serbia and some groups supported by Serbia,” Kosovo “Minister of Internal Affairs” Jelal Svechla commented on the incident. – We are not afraid of any provocation from Serbia, we are ready for any provocation, especially taking into account the unconditional support of countries friendly to us. Serbia's goal at the moment is not an attack on Kosovo, but destabilization of the region. But the situation in Kosovo is generally stable.”

Albanian authorities in Kosovo have already classified the incident as a terrorist attack.

At the same time, the director of the Kosovo Police, Samedin Mehmeti, on the contrary, believes that the attacks “from Serbia” are connected with “an organized group whose goal is to attack and obstruct the work of the Kosovo police.

“[This group] wants to prevent... activities related to the fight against smuggling and various illegal trades that take place on this part of the Kosovo border,” Mehmeti said.

Let us remind you that due to the “reciprocity measures” introduced by Prtistina, all goods from Serbia are considered illegal in Kosovo and are therefore subject to confiscation and destruction. At the same time, the Serbian enclaves of the region can only be supplied from Serbia, and “illegally”, and blocking such illegal flows of goods threatens them with a humanitarian catastrophe. Armed attacks against Kosovo militants took place in the municipalities of Northern Kosovo, where the predominantly Serb population lives.
