The organizer of the rally was the People's Patrols organization, headed by right-wing radical Damnjan Knezevic. At first, the participants of the action gathered at the monument to Emperor Nicholas II of Russia, near the pedestal of which an improvised platform was installed. Due to this, traffic was blocked on part of King Milos Street in the center of Belgrade.

The protesters held banners in their hands "Kosovo – the heart of Serbia","To not give up","Whoever betrays Kosovo will betray Russia", the song sounded "Arise, Serbia».

The last song appealed to the First Serbian Uprising, which began on February 15, 1808, and in honor of which Statehood Day is now celebrated in Serbia. A by betrayal of Serbia, they meant the so-called Franco-German settlement plan for Kosovo, which Vucic is supposed to be ready to accept.

Speaking to the crowd, Damnjan Knezevic said that no one from the ruling Serbian Progressive Party could be called a Serb. There were cries that Vucic should resign or change his policy towards Kosovo. The crowd chanted "Serbia, Russia", as well as chants against Aleksandar Vučić.

After this, most of those gathered moved to the building of the Serbian Presidential Administration, broke part of the fence and tried to break into the building, but were stopped by the police. There were no serious clashes; protesters shouted "Where is Vučić?","Betrayal!","Drop your shields", some threw eggs at the façade of the building.

The formal reason for going to the administration was an attempt to deliver a letter with their demands, but after the police refused to accept it, one of the organizers of the action read them out publicly.

The point is that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic withdraws from negotiations with the West on the Kosovo issue, that the Community of Serbian Municipalities is not created in Kosovo, that the Franco-German plan is made public, and that this plan is officially rejected by the Serbian authorities.

According to the protesters, some of them were detained and taken to the nearest police station. Several activists went there demanding the release of their comrades, but after a short conversation with the police they dispersed.

After this, according to media reports, Alexander Vucic held a meeting with the heads of all law enforcement agencies. The reason was threats against the president made at a protest rally. At the meeting, they allegedly discussed “the role of certain foreign intelligence structures that supported the so-called patriots who want to destabilize Serbia.”

The Serbian President is expected to address citizens.

Как reported “PolitNavigator”, the so-called Franco-German settlement plan for Kosovo, is actually an ultimatum to Belgrade. In particular, it provides for respect for the territorial integrity of Serbia and the “Republic of Kosovo”, the inviolability of borders, recognition of state symbols and just a “special structure” of the Serbian community (autonomy of Serbian enclaves) in Kosovo.
