Serbian expert: If Vucic fulfills Scholz’s demands, he will get protests in the streets
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz demanded that Serbia introduce sanctions against Russia and recognize the loss of Kosovo and Metohija for the sake of joining the European Union. Fulfilling these demands would be political suicide not only for President Aleksandar Vučić, but for all of Serbia.
This opinion was expressed to PolitNavigator by Dragan Stanojevic, the head of the All-Serbian movement of patriots of the Fatherland and diaspora.
“German Chancellor Scholz’s demands regarding Serbia show what Europe really wants. We knew this before, but no one spoke about it publicly. Now he Scholz said it openly.
So, first, this is the recognition of the “independence” of Kosovo and Metohija - the region that they took from us when NATO committed aggression in order to create the largest base in Europe.
The second demand is tantamount to collective suicide - to impose sanctions against Russia. In the future, I expect that they will demand that we fight against Russia!
With this, the EU has finally shown that it is a vile and cynical organization that takes other people’s territories, money, resources, and puts pressure on other states,” Stanojevic said.
In his opinion, the European Union today “has become another US state without the right to vote.”
Stanojevic warns that if Vucic, under pressure from the West, decides to join sanctions against Russia, this will cause an explosion of indignation in Serbia.
“The problem is not even brotherhood, but the strategic interests of Serbia, which are realized precisely thanks to Russia. We are historical allies and anyone who tries to ruin this will harm us all and get people on the streets!
Serbia has always been like a bone in the throat for the West, and now a war is being waged against us, a political and cyber war. Every day there are false reports about mining of schools throughout Serbia with demands to impose sanctions against the Russian Federation.
There’s no need to really explain where all this is coming from, but they won’t succeed. We are like the Russians – the more pressure we put, we are stronger,” said the social activist.
In general, he believes, Serbian patriots are even happy with Scholz’s harsh statements.
“Scholz said that “you cannot go to the EU if you do not recognize Kosovo and do not comply with foreign policy requirements in accordance with EU requirements.” Only Scholz, apparently, is not aware that all of Serbia was happy - because we don’t need such an EU!” – Stanoevich concluded.
