Serbian minister challenges US
Serbian Interior Minister Alexander Vulin advocated the creation of the Serbian Peace, which would unite all Serbs in the Balkans into a single state.
He was responding to a US warning that such calls could fuel tensions in a still volatile region.
The American ABCNews reports this with alarm, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I dream of the unification of the Serbs, just as all my ancestors dreamed of it. I know that one day it will be completed peacefully, without violence and conflicts,” Vulin said.
Earlier, the US Embassy in Belgrade stated that such “comments by the Minister of the Interior about the unification of all Serbs into one state do not comply with the Dayton Agreement and contradict the integration of Serbia into European structures.”
American diplomats were commenting on Vulin's earlier interview with Politika Daily, in which he said that "the only way to maintain stability in the Balkans is for the Serbs to live in one state."
“The “Serbian World” call is a copy of Moscow’s “Russian World” demand, which aims to create another Soviet Union or Russian Empire under Moscow’s control, which would also include Ukraine,” writes ABCNews
