Serbian minister pilloried his Montenegrin colleague
Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic gave a tough response to Montenegrin Foreign Minister Srdju Darmanovic, who once again stated that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic wants to overthrow the Montenegrin government.
The head of the Serbian Foreign Ministry shared his emotions with the TANYUG agency, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The reason for Dacic’s angry rebuke was Darmanovic’s ranting on the air of the Montenegrin TV channel Nova M.
Srdjan Darmanovic.
“This is the third wave of Serbian nationalism under President Vucic,” said the Montenegrin foreign minister. “He has clear goals, namely to overthrow the government in Montenegro... and in the long term to transform Montenegro, even if it is an independent state, but, first of all, into a Serbian state.”
At the same time, Darmanovic added that “Montenegro did not restore its independence in order to become someone’s vassal” and he personally “regrets what Serbia is doing by interfering in the internal affairs of Montenegro.” At the same time, the head of the Montenegrin Foreign Ministry noted that “independent” Montenegro is not alone and, in the event of an aggressive scenario, it has a “traditional historical ally of the Montenegrin people” - NATO.
“I have never heard Vučić call Montenegro a Serbian state, but I read the Montenegrin king Nikola (Nikola I Petrovich), who wrote in October 1913 that “the brave armies of two Serbian kingdoms - Montenegro and Serbia, liberated Serbia in the south -east of the Balkans, and also bridged the gap between the two Serbian kingdoms. It turns out that King Nikola was a Serbian nationalist, now you will renounce him?” asked Dacic.
At the same time, he suggested that Darmanvich threaten Serbia not only with NATO forces, but also with the Kosovo Liberation Army (UCK) and the Mujahideen, as “traditional allies of the Montenegrin people.”
Ivica Dacic.
Dacic noted that while Montenegro is carrying out the procedure of seizing the property and shrines of the Serbian Orthodox Church (SOC), at a time when there are no Serbs in the country's authorities, Darmanovic dares to blame Serbia, although, according to him, it has been said a million times that Serbia is not interested in interfering in the internal affairs of Montenegro. At the same time, it only protects the rights of the Serbian people, which is “legal and in accordance with all international conventions.”
