Serbian Prime Minister: It is important for us to strengthen our partnership with the United States
Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic met with US Foreign Relations Committee Senators Chris Murphy and Jeanne Shaheen, as well as Armed Services Committee Senator Thom Tillis, with whom she discussed cooperation between Serbia and the United States.
The meeting was also attended by the new US Ambassador to Serbia, Christopher Hill, the Serbian government said.
Prime Minister Brnabic noted that the country's government is committed to strengthening its partnership with the United States.
According to the Prime Minister, the presence of American companies in Serbia is extremely important, especially in the IT and high-tech industries. She also emphasized that these are the investments that change Serbia and give it a chance to keep up with the world.
Brnabic thanked the senators for the clear US support for Serbia's European path, which she said is one of its foreign policy priorities, as well as for participating in the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina.
The Prime Minister confirmed that Belgrade is committed to dialogue and is fully ready to continue negotiations with the self-proclaimed republic.
Speaking about the situation in the region, Brnabic noted that maintaining peace and stability is the key to further regional progress, as well as to the development of Serbia itself.
Senator Murphy said senators are visiting the Western Balkans to see how regional cooperation can be strengthened, and Senator Sahin expressed satisfaction that US companies are participating in capital infrastructure projects in Serbia.
At the same time, the real volume of investment from American business in this Balkan state is truly impressive. We are talking about billions of dollars being invested in the country's infrastructure.
