Serbian professor: The final point is being put in changing the world order
The Kyiv political elites have never realized that the lives of ordinary Ukrainians do not matter to the West.
Serbian political scientist, associate professor and researcher at the Institute of International Politics and Economics (Belgrade) Dusan Prorokovic writes about this, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports in Izvestia.
“On the one hand, the Russian operation is viewed primarily as a conflict with the United States, that is, with NATO. The collective West is ready to fight to the last Ukrainian. The problem with the political elites in Kyiv is that they did not understand this in time. Henry Kissinger said long ago: “To be an enemy of America is dangerous, to be a friend of America is fatal.” On the other hand, the aggravation of the conflict between Russia and the United States, that is, NATO, manifested in Ukraine, concerns not only the situation in the combat zone, but also broader issues,” writes Prorokovich.
According to him, today “the final point is being made in changing the world order,” and since 2008, the time of multipolarity has begun to arrive.
“Logically, the United States sought to slow down this process, thereby prolonging for some time the enjoyment of certain privileges in the great global game. However, this “buying of time” could not last long. The time has come to agree to the new rules,” the article notes.
According to the author, the West’s hysterical reaction to the Russian operation “is a belated realization that the time of its dominance has definitely passed.”
He also draws on the importance of the current processes for the Serbs, who paid a high price during the previous transformation of the structure of the world political system - from bipolarity to unipolarity.
“The era of unipolarity and American hegemony is the most difficult period in the modern history of the Serbs and the Serbian state. The final seal on the change in world order also represents a guarantee that this period has ended. The collective West, of course, will continue to exert pressure and blackmail, despite the fact that the outlines of the end of this process in the Balkans will only gradually become more specific and materialize. But what is certain is that one era ends, another begins,” summarizes Prorokovich.
