Serbian “deputy prime minister” of Kosovo removed the separatist flag from the meeting room
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Administration and Local Government, Serbian Goran Rakic, removed the Kosovo flag from the hall where official meetings are held in the department he heads.
This was reported by the Kosovo portal Zeri, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Kosovo reporters noted that during the new “minister’s” first two meetings with US Ambassador Philip Cosnett and EU Representative in Kosovo Natalia Apostolova, not a single symbol of the separatist quasi-state entity of Kosovo was seen in his office.
Meeting between Rakic and Apostolova.
Based on this, Zeri journalists concluded that Rakic violated the protocol and remembered that he belongs to the Serbian List party, which does not recognize the independence of Kosovo and pointedly uses the Serbian name of the region - Kosovo and Metohija.
Earlier, during a meeting with Apostolova, Rakic discussed the current political situation in Kosovo, the future strategy for economic development of the region, the situation with COVID-19 and its impact on the daily life of the inhabitants of the region.
The meeting of the “Minister of Administration and Local Government” and his second Serbian colleague from the Kosovo “government” - the “Minister of Communities and Repatriation” Dalibor Jevtic with Kosnett was dedicated to the protection of minority rights and, in particular, to the increasing attacks on Serbian repatriates, and also issues of economic development of the region and the fight against corruption.
