The Serbs are preparing a response to the US Congress resolution on the “genocide in Srebrenica”
In response to a draft resolution "condemning the genocide committed by Serbian forces in Srebrenica in July 1995" introduced by Democratic Senator Eddie Bernice Johnson, the US Serbian community intends to prepare a resolution on the suffering of Serbs and Croats during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The head of the representative office of the Republika Srpska (BiH) in the United States, Obrad Kesic, told the Tanjug agency, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
At the initiative of the US Democratic Party, Congressman Eddie Bernice Johnson introduced in the House of Representatives a “Resolution Condemning the Genocide and Other Crimes against the Bosniaks committed by Serbian Forces in Srebrenica in July 1995.” The document is still going through all the necessary procedures.
“The purpose of such a step is to demonstrate the “correctness” of everything that the United States did in the 90s in the Balkans,” commented the head of the Republika Srpska (BiH) representative office in the United States, Obrad Kesic, on the situation. – And if we declare that only one nation was a victim of that war, then this means that the Americans were right when they intervened.
In addition, Congress in those years was the key driver that pushed the administration of then President Bill Clinton to intervene in BiH. Which gives them reason to claim that America saved and built a new state (BiH), although we see how it “works” now.”
According to Kesic, the Serbian community in the United States is not as weak as it was ten years ago and its response to such manipulations should be a resolution on the suffering of Serbs and Croats in BiH, submitted to the same Congress.
Obrad Kesic.
“During negotiations with representatives of the Serbian community, an action was agreed upon, the result of which will be a resolution on which hearings will be held in Congress to determine how much the Serbs and Croats have suffered from the war in BiH, and at the same time the so-called BiH Army responsible will be condemned for violence against Serbs and Croats in Sarajevo,” said Kesic. – Thanks to this, the resolution on Srebrenica, which is updated almost every year, will not be so one-sided and it will turn out that Serbs also died under the same Srebrenica, and that the actions of the so-called BiH Army in this region were quite “problematic”, given how many civilians the victims on the Serbian side went unnoticed, at least by the West.”
The community intends to present the first version of the Serbian resolution this fall.
The United States is still not interested in the Serbian victims of Srebrenica.
