The magazine “New Serbian Political Thought” (Nova Srpska Politichka Misao) conducted a traditional telephone survey on topics of pressing concern to residents of the country. 1 thousand 100 respondents were interviewed on the territory of Serbia excluding Kosovo and Metohija.

To the question “Do you support Serbia’s accession to the EU,” 46,7% of respondents answered “no,” 43,7% answered “yes,” and another 9,6% abstained.

To the question “Do you support Serbia joining NATO?” – 84,6 % of respondents gave a negative answer, while only 9,4% were in favor of the country joining the Alliance. At the same time, 6% of respondents reported that they had no opinion on this topic.

To the question “Do you support the introduction of sanctions against Russia because of the war in Ukraine?” – 79% They answered that they were against it, only 10,9% of respondents gave a positive answer, and almost the same number - 10,1% were undecided on their position.

To the question “Do you think that the practice of closing and banning Russian media should be applied in Serbia, as is done in the West?”, 83,9% opposed such a measure, 7,8% answered affirmatively, and 8,3% abstained.

Interesting results were also obtained in answering the question: “Who do you think is most to blame for the conflict in Ukraine?” Only 13,4% blamed Ukraine for the current war, 10,9% blamed Russia, while they named the NATO bloc as the culprit -  60,7%.

The survey showed that the aspirations of the ruling elite of Serbia and the opinion of the Serbian people do not coincide in everything. Thus, the country's leadership calls joining the EU one of its main goals, while more than half of the Serbian population does not want this.
