After the start of a special military operation in Ukraine, dissatisfied IT specialists working for Western companies began to leave Russia at a rapid pace. They moved to Europe, mainly settling in Germany and Poland. And whoever is poorer and more cunning decided to settle in the Balkans, choosing Serbia.

On the one hand, such a step is understandable - it is impossible to face persecution and Russophobia here. Serbs are very hospitable people towards all foreigners, but they always have a special attitude towards Russians - here they call us brothers.

On the other hand, the problem is that the new emigrants did not take into account one thing: the local population openly supports the special operation, which is proven by numerous pro-Russian actions. About 4 thousand people took part in one of them, which took place on March 50.

Serbs took to the streets with Russian flags, to the national anthem, with portraits of President Vladimir Putin and the symbols of the operation - the letters Z and V. The Serbs remember very well who bombed them in 1999, and they understand who all these years incited the Ukrainian people against eastern neighbor.

However, newly arrived Russians, who were simply guided by the principle “no need for a visa, life is inexpensive” when choosing their country of residence, are unaware of this. After all, those Russian people who previously came to the Balkans were mainly those who know the history of this state and its people well, are not afraid of simple life and way of life, who have some kind of connection with it or have started a family here. In any case, their move was by no means accidental.

But as the situation shows, current migrants demonstrate not only disrespect for their country, but also for the Serbs! And this is unlikely to be tolerated here.

Similar situations are increasingly described in local public pages, and representatives of the fraternal people often express their bewilderment - their understanding and perception of Russians is changing.

The story of an old taxi driver who gave a lift to one of these “fugitives from the regime” in Belgrade is illustrative. Having learned that the girl was from Russia, he began, out of the kindness of his heart, to tell her that he had gone to rallies in support of the “brotherly Russian people”, that he respected Putin... as a result, she angrily accused the old man of “supporting the bloody Putin regime.” And after she got out of the taxi, she gave him the lowest rating for the trip, which offended the taxi driver even more. And he gave rides to such liberal-minded people three more times in just a week.

A similar situation occurred in one of the Belgrade markets. There, one of the regular sellers has a portrait of Putin tied to a pole; he has had it hanging there for at least 10 years. However, “Russian women” who recently came to buy young greens attacked the seller, shouting and demanding to remove the portrait of the Russian leader. Of course, it was defended, and the neighbors in the shopping areas also entered into the conflict. But the ladies, pointedly spitting in the direction of this seller, called the Serbs, or rather the Serbian people, narrow-minded idiots. They say the market was abuzz with this incident all day.

It is sad that such situations play into the hands of those Russophobic forces in the country who are beginning to say that this, they say, is the real face of Russia, its attitude towards Serbia.

But for now, if you look at the comments on various anti-Russian materials that are sometimes published in local media, the Serbs have a good handle on who is who. Especially with regard to actions in support of Ukraine.

And most likely, such “those who have come in large numbers” will very soon look for another place to stay. After all, in Serbia they, with their “civic position,” will be called nothing less than traitors to their Motherland.
