Serbs refuse to forgive the US
Half of Serbian citizens consider the United States an enemy of their country. Another third find it difficult to give a definite answer.

According to a survey conducted by the Institute of European Affairs, half of those surveyed see the United States as an enemy, 22% as a friend, and 28% were undecided.
A total of 57% believe that Serbia should maintain good relations with both Russia and the United States, while 40,9% believe that Serbia should maintain good relations only with Russia, and 4,3% prefer good relations with the United States.
About 43% believe that Serbia's relations with the United States will improve in the future.
This will happen after the Kosovo problem is resolved, according to 21,6%, while 12,8% said that they will improve if Kosovo is returned to Serbia.
10,8% expect an apology from NATO for the 1999 bombings, along with war reparations.
Only 8,1% believe that relations will improve if Serbia joins the European Union.
