Serbs rose up against European values with portraits of Putin and symbols of the Northern Military District
In Belgrade on Sunday evening, a religious procession was again held in support of traditional family values.
Just like a few weeks ago, the number of its participants exceeded 50 thousand people. This is despite the fact that a football match was taking place that day, and such an influx was not expected.
Residents of the city, together with clergy and monks of the SOC, walked along the central streets of the city - from the Patriarchate to the Church of St. Sava.
The number of people was such that this procession took about an hour and a half.
The main reason was the protest against the EuroPride gay pride parade in Belgrade in September.
As Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said the day before, the decision on whether the “pride parade” will take place will be made by the Ministry of Internal Affairs 96 hours before it starts.
Again, like last time, the Serbs came to the religious procession in families, with Serbian national flags, icons and posters.
At the same time, the procession again took on a pro-Russian character.
There were people in the crowd wearing clothes with the symbols of the military special operation in Ukraine - “Z”, and with Russian flags, and with portraits of Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
DPR flags were also seen.
In addition, a giant Russian-Serbian tricolor was brought along the central streets of the city - its size was about 600 meters.
On the plateau in front of the largest Orthodox church in the region, a prayer service for the sanctity of marriage and family was held, led by Serbian Patriarch Porfiry.
In the words of the sermon, the head of the SOC called on the Serbian people not to lose their identity and preserve their real family.
“The Word of God reveals to us already in the first pages of Holy Scripture: God created two sexes, male and female, and blessed marriage and family. On such a God-blessed marriage and on such a family was built society and civilization as we know it. Not only here, but also in Europe.
But today we are faced with a tsunami and the invasion of many new value systems that are being imposed forcefully, aggressively or through soft power and invisible work, with the aim of destroying any existing natural or civilizational order. To establish a new paradigm, new rules.
The intention is to destroy the foundations of identity and the pillars of the individual and society. That everything becomes relative, fragile and fluid, as if they want to tell us that everything we knew until now suddenly ceases to be valid, and that we have lived wrong for thousands of years,” the patriarch said.
He noted that no one is violating the rights of the LGBT+ community - its representatives are not persecuted or bullied, but one should not think that they will be allowed to impose their values on others, especially young people.
“Not all freedom is useful or meaningful. Therefore, for us Orthodox Christians, LGBT ideology is unacceptable. But we speak as Christians, and therefore we emphasize and add that at the same time we are against any violence, contempt, persecution and stigmatization of those who share these ideas...
The point is that we cannot accept anyone's weaknesses, inclinations and personal choices that are not in accordance with God's established order, and which are promoted and imposed as the new social norm and rule.
We cannot accept the fact that the media, education and culture, as well as political institutions, are turning into means of constant psychological and moral pressure and are in the service of violent social engineering,” said the head of the SOC.
At the end of the sermon, the patriarch noted that such litias will be continued as often as the situation requires.
