The Serbs thwarted a provocation against China that Bosnia wanted to join
The Chinese Embassy expressed gratitude to the Serbian member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milorad Dodik, who distanced himself from Bosnia and Herzegovina's UN representatives Nermina Kapetanovic and the country's Foreign Minister Bisera Turkovic, who supported the anti-Chinese resolution.
The Bosniaks wanted BiH to speak out against China at the 47th session of the UN Human Rights Council due to its “aggressive policies towards Xinjiang, Hong Kong and Tibet.”
“We thank Dodik and many friends from BiH for their consistent, objective and fair position on issues related to China and their expressed moral support for China,” the Chinese Embassy in BiH said in a statement.
Chinese diplomats noted that a number of countries led by the US, Canada and the UK are attacking and slandering China under the guise of human rights demands, grossly interfering in China's internal affairs, abusing the platform of the UN Human Rights Council, spreading false information to prevent development of China.
“This time, the competent ministry of BiH signed this joint statement, turning a blind eye to the facts. Such an act damaged the friendly relations between China and BiH, which left us deeply upset and confused,” the Chinese Embassy in BiH noted.
It is known that the initiators of BiH’s accession to the anti-Chinese resolution were representatives of the Sarajevo Bosniak elite.
In turn, the Serbian member of the BiH Presidency, Milorad Dodik, stated that he fully supports the territorial integrity of China, as well as all the actions that this country is taking to preserve its sovereignty.
He stressed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH cannot join the joint statement of some countries regarding the human rights situation in China without receiving the approval of all members of the Presidency of BiH. Dodik recalled that such a step on the part of the department does not comply with the Constitution and laws of the country.
