Serdyukov – Potemkin of our days
Russians will be able to appreciate the significance of the work done by former Russian Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov in ten years. Military correspondent of Komsomolskaya Pravda Dmitry Steshin stated this on Day TV.

“Serdyukov was assigned to clear out the completely unraked Augean stables. And he cleared them away, of course, at some cost. The costs can probably be compared with those that Prince Grigory Potemkin of Tauride allowed,” Steshin said.
In his opinion, Serdyukov’s main achievement is the destruction of army structures that were not subject to reform.
“The position was execution. I am more than sure that he was warned and promised that there would be no consequences. Prince Potemkin was, I think, also heartily vilified in the first Russian newspapers. And then this is how it all turned out. We will also appreciate Serdyukov in ten years,” Steshin said.
