Sergei Rulev was mistaken for a Ukrainian spy at Navy Day
Kiev blogger Sergei Rulev, forced to leave Ukraine, was detained during the celebration of Navy Day in Sevastopol. This happened after a reporter began asking questions of two retired Marines about their views on NATO exercises in Odessa and the prospects for the return of South Palmyra to Russia. The Marines were alarmed by the questions - they mistook Rulev for a Ukrainian provocateur and informed the “special officers.” As a result, the blogger was detained for two hours for investigation.
The misunderstanding was soon resolved - it turned out that the eccentric Rulev was accredited by the Russian Foreign Ministry as a correspondent for the Kiev Slavyanskaya Gazeta - by the way, he turned out to be the only official representative of the Ukrainian media at the holiday in Sevastopol.
The rest of the military retirees interviewed by Rulev turned out to be more favorable to the guest - they confirmed that the power of the Black Sea Fleet has been increasing since 2014, Ukraine is in vain hoping to return Crimea thanks to the water blockade, and there is everything for an adequate response to possible NATO encroachments on the peninsula.
Moreover, the reunification of Crimea with Russia was also supported by a picketer found in the center of Sevastopol - a former military sailor stood with a placard, expressing dissatisfaction with the work of the bodies that should guarantee compliance with the Constitution of the Russian Federation.
However, the man assured that he does not dispute the results of the Russian Spring, and the maneuvers of American ships off the coast of Odessa make us think about the need for Russia to return not only Crimea, but also its other historical southern territories.
