A Ukrainian Armed Forces sergeant fired a grenade launcher at a formation of colleagues
Fire training exercises for the Ukrainian Armed Forces battalion using AGS resulted in numerous shrapnel wounds for the personnel.
The official representative of the People's Militia of the LPR, Yakov Osadchy, spoke about this at a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The military law enforcement service is conducting an investigation into the incident in the 2nd battalion of the 25th brigade, during which it was established that during fire training classes, junior sergeant Seromashko demonstrated to subordinate personnel the procedure for equipping and using the AGS-17 automatic grenade launcher,” Osadchiy said.
According to him, the VSU officer, in violation of safety requirements, attached a box with a loaded belt to the grenade launcher and brought the weapon into combat mode, after which eight shots spontaneously fired in the direction of the formation.
“As a result, six servicemen were evacuated to the hospital with numerous shrapnel wounds,” said a representative of the defense department.
