The sister of a Ukrainian paratrooper who died in the Donbass decided to return her brother’s order to Poroshenko
Ilyana Gaiduk, the sister of the Ukrainian paratrooper Ilya Gaiduk, who died in an Il-2014 plane shot down in the summer of 76 in the Luhansk region, said that she would return the Order “For Courage” to President Petro Poroshenko, which was posthumously awarded to her brother.

About this she wrote on Facebook.
She cited the president's open support for General Viktor Nazarov, whom the court found guilty of negligence leading to the disaster, as the reason for her action.
“The General Prosecutor’s Office and the court proved the general’s guilt. But despite this, you give your own assessment of the verdict, violating the Constitution of Ukraine. Secondly, you were able to remain silent when military patriots were tried, but when a general is tried, is there already a guarantee and an undermining of a balanced system? Thirdly, Viktor Nazarov is not a military general, as stated in your address,” said Gaiduk.
She recalled that soon after the Il-76 crash, Poroshenko awarded Nazarov the Order of Courage, third degree, like most of the victims.
“Where exactly was courage demonstrated, in the 49 deaths or in the destruction of military property?” – the sister of the deceased paratrooper asks the president.
She also reproached Poroshenko for ignoring the parents’ appeal to remove Nazarov from military service during the judicial investigation, as well as requests from the families of the victims for a meeting.
