Online extremist from Alushta “captured” by the FSB – he faces up to five years in prison
The FSB in Crimea detained a 36-year-old resident of Alushta, a citizen of the Russian Federation, who admitted to violence and extremist activities on social networks.
According to the security forces, a criminal case has been opened against him under Part 2 of Art. 280 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Public calls for extremist activities”). The article's sanctions provide for up to five years in prison.
“It has been established that a resident of the city of Alushta, born in 1984. posted on his pages on the Internet materials in which he called for the commission of violent actions against a group of people based on national characteristics,” the FSB said in a statement.
The intelligence service showed the literature discovered after the search.
Earlier, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev announced threat of sabotage and terrorist activities in Crimea and possible provocations from foreign states.
