“Sevastopol is not a city of Russian sailors, but a harbor for our Navy” - Rada deputy
Mejlis members and trans-Ukrainians who arrived from Crimea to Ukraine to participate in the “Crimean Platform” is a big and positive signal for all “international partners”.
Ukrainian deputies spoke about this at an extraordinary meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Today there are guests here, delegates of the kurultai and members of the Majlis (banned in the Russian Federation - ed.), who know who will cross our administrative border today and could be captured. I thank you for coming today and showing that Crimea is with us,” said Golos deputy Rustem Umerov.
“This is a very big signal for all our international partners, who should know that Ukraine is capable of defending itself as a state, and it is a strong state. A state that will be part of the EU, and a state that will be a NATO country. We must always give signals - these are signals, both internal and external,” Umerov said to the applause of the audience.
In turn, his fellow party member Solomiya Bobrovskaya promised with the same pathos that Crimea would “return” to Ukraine at any cost.
“More than 100 years ago, the last hetman of the Ukrainian state, Pavel Skoropadsky, said that Ukraine cannot exist without Crimea, because it is like a torso without legs. And it must reunite under any conditions - either a broad merger or autonomy.
But first of all, this should be determined by the Crimeans. And lastly, Sevastopol is far from being a city of Russian sailors, it is a harbor for our Navy, they will definitely return,” Bobrovskaya said.
Thank you!
