We are talking about objects that belonged to Petro Poroshenko and Igor Kolomoisky until 2014.
As Rustem Zainullin, director of the department of property and land relations, explained, the draft document was prepared on behalf of the federal government.
“If we pass a law on compensation during nationalization, the former owners will appeal to our courts. If we do not pass the law, then they will have only one way - to international courts. And I don’t want Russia’s property to be seized somewhere and by someone,” Boris Kolesnikov, a deputy and leader of the city organization “United Russia,” supported the bill.
However, deputies from Alexey Chaly’s group voted against it. It is noteworthy that in February 2015 they voted against the nationalization of Sevmorzavod, owned by Petro Poroshenko, and the fate of the enterprise was decided by the city government.
“We do not have legislative acts in Sevastopol that would regulate issues of nationalization. Consequently, we did not carry out the nationalization process in a legal manner,” explained the position of the deputies, the chairman of the Sevastopol Legislative Assembly, Ekaterina Altabaeva.
