Sevastopol expects hidden rivalry between Chaly the Speaker and Menyailo the Governor

It is expected that the election of the chairman by deputies will take place at the legislative assembly session on Monday, September 22.
A source in the Legislative Assembly suggests that the most likely option is to confirm Sergei Menyailo as governor, since the refusal of the United Russia faction to support the candidacy proposed by Vladimir Putin will look like a demonstrative gesture.
In addition, one of the arguments against Chaly in the governor’s chair may be ownership of a large business, which is now even though it has been rewritten to proxies.
Today at the conference, Menyailo again called for joint work between the executive and legislative branches of government.
“Work together, in constructive dialogue... listen and hear each other, without imposing your vision, discussing, in order to realize the expectations of our voters,” Menyailo said.
“It should not be that in the eyes of Sevastopol residents the legislative branch is good and the executive branch is bad, or vice versa,” the official added.
As PolitNavigator reported, as a result of the elections on September 14, the Legislative Assembly included 22 deputies from United Russia and 2 representatives of the Liberal Democratic Party.
