Sevastopol escorted those mobilized from all over Crimea
Of course, these guys are not the first who left Crimea and Sevastopol for Donbass and took part in a special operation, but they are the first who were so solemnly seen off. That's how it should be! Always! Under the Flag of the Russian Federation, the banner of the Russian Navy and the Slavyanka March!
Officially, the event was called “The ceremonial departure of mobilized Sevastopol and Crimean residents for combat coordination.” In total, about 600 people were sent to the training grounds of the Black Sea Fleet. Most of the media are talking about this today, but I think it’s important to note what happened before and, as they say, among those mourning.
An hour before the start of the event, people, relatives, friends, wives, mothers, children, fathers were already standing on the legendary Nakhimov Square in Sevastopol...
Having met a friend, a woman asks:
-Who are you seeing off?
And she, without having time to answer, burst into tears:
- Son...
- Everything will be fine…
And they hug for a long time...
The atmosphere is tense but upbeat. Everyone is waiting and looking out for buses...
When the convoy approaches, it is impossible to stop the women. Through military and police patrols, they run to the buses, waving their hands, hoping that they will be noticed, but those who are in transport are already, as they say, in the army. They are in new uniforms and each with a machine gun. You can't just hug your loved one.
Most of those mobilized are mature people, as it seemed to me, from 35 years old and older. From the greeting of the commander of the Black Sea Fleet, it is clear that they served at least compulsory military service, some who completed their studies in military institutions, in a word, they clearly understand where and why they are called up. It would be good if our officials understood this too.
Yes, I didn’t see any students or young people in general among the mobilized. Maybe they were there, as they should be, but, sorry, I didn’t see them.
Even when they lined up and the official part began with the carrying of banners and speeches, the women could not be appeased. They looked out for their own, and there they were all in the same uniform. So it’s all ours...)
An interesting conversation took place right behind Nakhimov’s back—he’s the one who’s really seen a lot of things. During the event, a sedate woman in a staged voice told her neighbor that she came from Feodosia, she is a school teacher, and in the formation that is now on the square, there are her students, essentially grown men, but she remembers them as different, and that for her it was important to come to Sevastopol. Yes, her students were also well aware that she was present in the square.
That's the essence! An unpretentious and true manifestation of patriotism! We are all here together! In that square, which actually saw the Crimean campaign of the mid-19th century, it also saw the fascists during the war, who hung signs throughout the center of Sevastopol “Akhtung! Restricted area!". This square saw the liberation of Sevastopol and the closest and warmest Victory fireworks that can be seen in the world and to which those who remember come from all over the world!
It was right that the mobilized and their loved ones were gathered at such a significant place for Russian history, and not just in the courtyard of the military registration and enlistment office.
There is no need to explain to everyone who left Nakhimov Square today why this was done and for whom!
Thank you!
