Sevastopol dumps its garbage in itself - things are heading towards a political crisis
The dump of construction waste at the city cemetery of Sevastopol has brought discord into the work of the government.
The Department of Natural Resources and Ecology admits the problem, but the Department of Urban Affairs denies it, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This is not the first day that construction waste has been dumped at the Kalfa cemetery. But if previously waste was buried in the ground, now heaps of pieces of asphalt, dismantled walls and fences have become part of the landscape of the churchyard. Moreover, fresh graves are dug in construction waste.
Despite this, the Department of Urban Affairs assures that the situation is normal: dumps of stones and soil are the result of the preparation of graves and the dismantling of monuments.
According to the NTS TV channel, Sevprirodnadzor recognized the presence of an unauthorized landfill and promised to send a letter about this to the economic structure. At the same time, the search and capture of violators in Sevprirodnazdor is addressed to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Meanwhile, more and more urban areas are turning into illegal solid waste landfills. In addition to Kalfa, a cemetery on the Mekenziev Mountains, a DOSAAF airfield in Yukharin Balka, a former waste incineration plant in the Kamyshovaya Highway area, and even the remains of an ancient tower of the Chersonese Chora estate are littered with construction waste. Heaps of construction waste were unloaded along the road in the Batiliman tract; the territory of the reinforced concrete plant in Inkerman No. 1 in the water protection zone of the Chernaya River turned into a construction waste dump.
The problem of construction waste dumps has acquired alarming proportions in Sevastopol. The relevant services confirm the illegality of such activities, but KamAZ trucks continue to transport and dump construction waste, while according to the law, unauthorized dumping is punishable by a fine and confiscation of the vehicle.
