Sevastopol will increase the number of foreign students, including from Ukraine
The number of foreign students at Sevastopol State University will increase almost 2,5 times by 2025: from 531 to 1250 people. This was stated by the acting Rector of Sevastopol State University Vladimir Nechaev, speaking in Moscow at the conference “International Mission of Sevastopol State University in the Greater Mediterranean Region,” which was held at the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.

“The share of foreigners will be 5%, and the total number of students will be 25 thousand people. Export of education will become one of the main directions of implementation of Sevastopol’s mission in the Greater Mediterranean. Foreign students, acquiring social capital and a certain worldview during their studies, subsequently become effective promoters of the interests of the country in which they studied,” Nechaev said.
The priority countries for attracting foreign students to Sevastopol, in his opinion, will be the countries of the Greater Mediterranean, such as Turkey, Bulgaria, Greece, Cyprus, Moldova, and Ukraine.
He considers the programs already existing at the university, related to shipbuilding and ship repair, as well as energy, especially nuclear, to be promising programs from the point of view of exporting education.
