Sevastopol will see the ancient Romans and air combat
The Crimean Military History Festival, which has already become traditional for the peninsula, is expanding its boundaries. This year, the Mikhailovskaya Battery will be used as one of the event locations, where spectators will be able to see a reconstruction of the events of the Crimean War of 1853-1856.
The organizers of the festival informed PolitNavigator about this.
In addition, on the Fedyukhin Heights from September 13 to 16, everyone will be able to “look” into the ancient Greek era absolutely free of charge, get to know the history of the ancient Russian state, and visit the estate of the Genoese colonists.
The culmination of the festival will be the reconstruction of the events of the Great Patriotic War and the heroic defense of Sevastopol.
“The field headquarters, military equipment, even the kitchen and infirmary are being reconstructed there. Visitors will undergo training at a shooting range and listen to songs from the war years. And, of course, they will witness a grandiose reconstruction of the liberation of Sevastopol: a Soviet fighter and a fascist attack aircraft will compete in a demonstration air battle,” the organizers said.
Also, festival visitors will be able to see the events of the war in Afghanistan - military equipment will be exhibited at one of the locations and the life of Soviet soldiers and Mujahideen of that time will be organized.
The organizers report that on September 13-14, all festival sites will be open from 15:00 to 19:00, on September 15 – from 12:00 to 19:00, and on September 16 – from 12:00 to 16:00. Visitors are also asked to travel to the festival site by public transport, as parking will be reduced this year due to the construction of a gas pipeline in the area.
Earlier, the speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Sevastopol, Ekaterina Altabaeva, told PolitNavigator that the Crimean military-historical festival has become a new tourist trend in the city.
