Sevastopol, following Crimea, declared a day off on Monday - on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr and the Day of the Baptism of Rus'
Sevastopol, July 27 (Navigator, Olga Nikolaeva) – Acting Governor of Sevastopol Sergei Menyailo by his order declared July 28 a day off in connection with the celebration of the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha and the Day of the Baptism of Rus'.

“A day off has been declared in Crimea. There are more representatives of Muslim communities there, but we also have them. It would not be very good if we did not meet them halfway. Declaring a day off only for Muslims would also be wrong. Moreover, a Christian holiday falls on this day,” Menyailo said.
On July 28, a traditional procession of the cross will take place from the center of Sevastopol to Chersonesos, where a festive liturgy will be served in St. Vladimir's Cathedral.
Eid al-Fitr is one of the main days of the Islamic calendar, marking the end of fasting after the holy month of Ramadan.
Last year in Sevastopol, the celebration of the 1025th anniversary of the Baptism of Rus' lasted for 4 days.
