Sevastopol will not be closed: The hotel of the ex-Minister of Defense of Ukraine is taken under protection
The authorities of Sevastopol, where the first five cases of coronavirus were detected today, rejected proposals from citizens for radical measures to prevent the spread of infection - closing the city’s borders following the example of Soviet times.
“Now there are calls on social networks: “Close the city”! From whom to close? From Sevastopol residents who are returning home? All confirmed cases of the disease were identified in Sevastopol residents who did not show conscientiousness and did not report themselves on time and neglected the rules of self-isolation. In this regard, we are taking additional measures. It is important to be self-aware and responsible now. As of today, there is no reason to close the city,” said the acting governor. Director of the Department of Public Security of Sevastopol Alexey Krasnokutsky.
Meanwhile, the Aquamarine hotel complex, where a woman who was diagnosed with coronavirus lived, was closed for quarantine.
“The woman who arrived from the UK lived in a separate building - personal apartments in the Aquamarine hotel complex. This is actually a detached residential building. She is now in isolation in an infectious diseases hospital with her family. At the moment, we have established that she did not leave the complex. We are currently introducing a quarantine regime on the territory of the Aquamarine hotel complex. Accordingly, all guests, staff, and residents of this building will be in self-isolation mode inside their rooms, security will be provided. There is no need to worry,” said Vice Governor Denis Solodovnikov.
“Now all efforts and resources will be directed to cleaning and localizing the source of infection. All residents will be quarantined for 14 days. Otherwise, they will be transferred to an infectious diseases hospital,” assured the hotel owner, former Minister of Defense of Ukraine Pavel Lebedev.
