The corresponding order was signed by the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
At the same time, the Belbek airfield remained a joint base for civilian and military vessels.
“In the position regarding the Belbek airfield, the words “state unitary enterprise “Sevastopol Airport” should be replaced with the words “joint-stock company “Simferopol International Airport”,” the order says.
Earlier, the governor of Sevastopol, Dmitry Ovsyannikov, announced that there were no prospects for regular air service on Belbek: “A decision was made not to meet the city of Sevastopol halfway and to leave Belbek as a branch of the Simferopol airport with a narrow niche of VIP transportation,” he said.
