The port of Sevastopol is going bankrupt under the guise of “Western sanctions”
Massive layoffs of workers began in the Sevastopol seaport.
The publication “Notes” writes about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the publication, 120 people will lose their jobs - in particular, those who work on tugboats, and it was decided to sell the tugboats themselves.
Sanctions against the port have been in effect for five years, but none of the officials even tried to adapt the cargo harbor to new realities and think through other logistics together with the mainland, the publication notes.
In January, the head of the Main Control Directorate of the city government, Sergei Elizarov, announced the preliminary results of an audit of the enterprise’s economic activities.
According to him, Sevmorport is being led to deliberate bankruptcy.
In particular, Elizarov spoke about the unjustified write-off of property, the undervaluation of property and the fact that the port’s berths are used by private companies, and the state unitary enterprise does not receive any income from this commercial activity.
