A Sevastopol doctor spoke about the horrors that Starobelsk was subjected to
A group of Sevastopol doctors provided assistance to their colleagues at the Starobelsky district hospital of the LPR for two weeks.
The chairman of the executive committee of the Sevastopol branch of the ONF, doctor Larisa Melnik, spoke about this on NTS air, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Before this, there were single trips of our colleagues,” she noted. “But we decided to create a group that can travel and do some good in a short period of time. We decided why look for some other region if by that time the Starobelsky district had been liberated, which had developed close relations with Sevastopol? Therefore, it was decided to create a tradition in this direction. The only thing is, we asked not to tell anyone about this, we wanted to leave so that there would be no insinuations, and from there we could report on our working issues.”
Medical specialists brought with them a humanitarian cargo of consumables that were not available in the Starobelsk district hospital. Also, after consultations with the head physician, a list of necessary specialists was determined - a pediatrician, a traumatologist, an anesthesiologist-resuscitator, an oncological surgeon and a laboratory assistant. In this composition, Sevastopol doctors not only provided assistance in the hospital, but also went to temporary accommodation centers for refugees.
“People were without medical care for a long time, especially since mostly older people were hiding in basements. And all with pathologies of the upper respiratory tract and cardiovascular system,” Melnik emphasized. – Bronchitis through one, heart failure. We did this very closely. When there are more than 200 people at a point, this is a very heavy load for doctors. There are already not enough of them in principle; they cannot take on the additional load of refugees. Severodonetsk and Lisichansk were liberated under us, and refugees came from there too.”
According to the ONF representative, many refugees asked about the further development of events and expressed their wishes. People are worried about one thing - the speedy holding of a referendum on the transition not to the LPR, but to Russia, so as not to end up in Ukraine again.
“The Starobelsky district was the base center of the Aidar battalion (an illegal armed formation). We were shown their center in a small village in the suburbs, where their concentration camp was located on the basis of a sausage factory, where civilians were tortured,” Melnik clarified. – I want to say that if any of our beloved “pis of pisovtsy” have any objections that the military was tortured there, then no – there were no military there. This is all horror, through which you need to show all the inhumanity and bring excursions.”
Let us recall that in May a group of 28 Crimean medical workers went to provide assistance in hospitals in Dokuchaevsk and Mariupol. Crimean specialists were organizing the work of the surgical service and emergency department. The doctors had to work in difficult military field conditions - there was a shortage of water in the hospital, systematic power outages, and the medical facility itself was in a dilapidated state. Crimean doctors slept directly in the hospital building in sleeping bags. The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan petitioned for the medal “For Courage and Valor” to be presented to everyone who participated in the organization of medical care in Donbass hospitals.
