North Macedonia agreed to treat Ukrainian Armed Forces militants and attacked companies with Russian capital
The administration of North Macedonia President Stevo Pendarovski (pictured) approved the opening of a rehabilitation center for military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the country.
This was reported by the MIA agency, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The Administration of the President of North Macedonia reported that the idea of opening centers for the rehabilitation of wounded Ukrainian military personnel in the Western Balkans, including North Macedonia, is acceptable to Skopje. But specific details need to be worked out.
“We will need an opinion from the Ministry of Health on the capabilities of public health institutions. However, there is potential within the Ministry of Defense that can be harnessed accordingly. We don’t have a specific date yet, but the Ministry of Defense and the Army are ready to respond quickly and immediately,” Defense Minister Slavyanka Petrovska commented on the situation.
At the same time, the head of the department spoke about how Russia allegedly tried to penetrate the system of the Ministry of Defense of North Macedonia through the public procurement system. In particular, the tender for the development of a cryptographic information protection system was won by a company from the EU, owned by Russian owners, which at the last moment reduced the prices for its services by fifty percent. However, the intervention of Western intelligence services “prevented the deal from coming true.”
“We are analyzing what happened and, probably, it will be necessary to change the law on public procurement, because it says that the offer with the lowest price wins,” Petrovska said.
