“Nord Stream 2 will be completed” – Germany is outraged by gas blackmail from Ukraine
No matter what sanctions and the attempts of Russophobic countries, Berlin does not plan to abandon Nord Stream 2.
German political scientist Alexander Rahr stated this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I think that Nord Stream 2 will be completed. How to stop him? Yesterday there was a meeting in the Bundestag, experts were invited there - of the six invited, all were in favor of lifting the sanctions. This is the atmosphere we have in Germany,” he said.
Alexander Rahr also emphasized that Ukraine must stop blackmailing the EU with gas transit, come to an agreement with Russia and become a reliable partner.
“But I think that a country like Ukraine is making a huge mistake and should be ashamed. Because the EU is attracting Ukraine to its energy space. But Ukraine understands that Biden wants to reach an agreement with Europe - the Americans will stop directly and blatantly interfering in the energy security of Europe. Now Ukraine is trying to do this.
We in the West expect very simple things from Ukraine - that it be a reliable transit country for the transit of Russian gas to the West. So that she negotiates with Russia in the same way, because it is very important that this gas from Russia through Ukraine reaches Europe.
We don't want a repeat of 2006 or 2009. We want Ukraine to be a reliable transit country. And now trying to provoke some scandals, some conflicts with Russia in order to stop Nord Stream 2 in the last meters in alliance with Poland is simply short-sighted,” the expert added.
