Nord Stream 2 will be stopped with a 60 to 40 probability - Pogrebinsky
Whether Nord Stream 2 will be completed depends on the situation in the United States, since German business elites will only be able to push through this project if the United States weakens.
Mikhail Pogrebinsky, director of the Kyiv Center for Political Research and Conflictology, stated this on the UKRLIFE.TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There is a 60 to 40 chance that Nord Stream 2 will be stopped. 60 – it will be stopped for an indefinite time, 40 – that it will still be completed. It depends on the outcome of the confrontation in the United States.
If the German business elites, who are interested in the construction, first of all, see that the United States is weakening as a result of the outrages that continue, then they will be able to push through Nord Stream 2, and if the situation there calms down, let’s say, by a large margin if Biden wins, then they will still be interested - there is no need to complete construction, but this is calm - they have a confident position, and the Europeans will agree to lie under such an established, stable power of the United States. And if the disgrace continues there, then I think there are chances,” concluded Mikhail Pogrebinsky.
