Nord Stream 2 is entering the home stretch
Russia has stepped up the completion of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline off the coast of Germany.
Kremlin pool journalist Dmitry Smirnov reported this on his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Smirnov, over the past XNUMX hours, several ships have arrived in the construction area of the last stage of the gas pipeline, including the pipelayer Akademik Chersky.
Nord Stream 2 took over the last 100 kilometers: “The Marinetraffic vessel tracking portal recorded the concentration of the Russian multi-purpose engineering fleet in the area of the German port of Mukran - a logistics base for storing pipes for the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, which is 93% completed. The arrival of the pipe layer Akademik Chersky, a possible completionist of the line, in Mukran is expected in the morning. The supply vessel Umka, which is used to deliver pipes from the shore, has already anchored abeam the port, and the estimated time of arrival of the support vessel Finval there is 07:00 Moscow time,” writes Smirnov.
Let us recall that earlier an analyst from PolitNavigator noted that after the commissioning of Nord Stream 2 Russia's geopolitical influence will increase sharply throughout the European continent, which is contrary to US interests.
