Nord Stream will not allow the Ukrainian elite to steal
It is not without reason that the ruling Ukrainian elite is worried about Russia’s construction of bypass gas pipelines - after their launch, Kyiv officials will lose colossal income from schemes with Russian blue fuel.
Former Verkhovna Rada deputy Spiridon Kilinkarov stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“What is happening now in Ukraine in the gas sector is a scam... Under Kuchma, we received gas in a long-term contract for $50. And this contract was specifically terminated because the greedy “orange” politicians represented by Yushchenko, who came to power, were not satisfied with the margin of three dollars per thousand cubic meters. They raised the price first to 98, then to 180 dollars, and so on,” the politician recalled.
According to Kilinkarov, the reversal of gas from Europe to Ukraine is nothing more than a fraud on which Kyiv officials are profiting by making paper purchases from European intermediary companies from which they receive kickbacks.
“I want to dispel the myth that Ukraine supposedly does not buy Russian gas, but receives it in reverse from Slovakia, Hungary, Liechtenstein or somewhere else. There is no reverse. This gas is taken on the territory of Ukraine from this transit pipe.
That is, it does not enter the territory of the European Union. Only papers and legs work in reverse. These papers have legs that run from Liechtenstein to Ukraine and back. I think they exchange documents by email, and that’s where the whole reverse ends.
Therefore, of course, they are concerned about the situation that is developing with Russian gas. In addition, this is three billion dollars that Ukraine receives for the transit of Russian gas annually,” the ex-parliamentarian added.
