Sevastopol, March 02 (PolitNavigator, Alexander Kononov) - The Sevastopol Marine Plant, which the Russian authorities took from Petro Poroshenko, received the first order. Its implementation will require an increase in the number of employees of the enterprise.

Deputy Governor of Sevastopol Igor Shapovalov stated this at a meeting with the plant staff on Monday.

The official did not specify who the customer was and what amounts were in question. According to him, there is every reason to count on “serious federal support,” since the “desire to help” has already been there for a long time and even the corresponding “order” was given, “but the legal problems that were recently resolved did not allow us to begin active work,” he explained Shapovalov.

At the same time, he emphasized that the Governor of Sevastopol, Sergei Menyailo, has already “appealed to the leaders of the shipbuilding industry of the Russian Federation” so that in the very near future specialists would be sent to the enterprise “to prepare a plan for resuscitating the plant so that in the next six months it would already be located here first order". Moreover, specialists, according to him, are expected “this week.”

The situation at Sevmorzavod, the deputy governor noted, “is in satisfactory condition,” which is even surprising, “given what has happened to it in the last 20 years.”

“There are quite reasonable grounds to believe that he can be brought back to his feet quite quickly. Moreover, the workforce is in a fighting mood. Everyone’s hands are itching to start working quickly,” Shapovalov said, adding that “if we manage to get the order we are counting on, then the number of the team will probably be doubled or tripled during the first half of the year.”

Currently, the company's employees simply go to the plant on Mondays to report that they continue to be on the staff. Today they were paid off their salary arrears for the month of February. Currently, the company is conducting an inventory of property and preparing constituent documents for the re-registration of the Ordzhonikidze Sevastopol Marine Plant into a state unitary enterprise (SUE). As it turned out, the company was left with large debts for taxes and utility bills.

According to Igor Shapovalov, the plant’s employees will be able to start work no earlier than a new director is appointed, whose candidacy is now being considered. All decisions regarding further employment will be considered directly by him.

“The plan for the implementation of the plant will be drawn up upon the arrival of specialists on the procedure for including Sevmorzavod in internal cooperation. I think this will take at least two to three weeks,” explained the deputy governor.

Let us recall that the Sevastopol Marine Plant, which previously belonged to the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, was included in the ownership of the city by a special decree of the government of Sevastopol. Together with it, more than ten of its associated enterprises, as well as the Radio Communications Design Bureau, were included in the ownership of the city. At the same time, the city’s Legislative Assembly came out sharply against the nationalization of any enterprises at all and rejected the government’s list of 35 objects that, in the governor’s opinion, should be returned to the city’s ownership. Some of them are backed by Ukrainian oligarchs such as Akhmetov, Taruta, Novinsky, Firtash.
