Zelensky's party congress was overshadowed by a fight with the police
Today, near the Kyiv exhibition center "Parkovy", on the roof of which the congress of the presidential party "Servant of the People" was held, several dozen people staged a protest, which escalated into a brawl between the police and the protesters.
People came out with demands for the authorities to resolve the issue with the unfinished residential complexes of developer Anatoly Voitsekhovsky. According to one version, the extras were hired by the businessman’s competitors, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The deceived investors of the residential complexes first blocked traffic on the street by standing at the pedestrian crossing, instantly creating a large traffic jam. People honked their football horns and called for President Zelensky, who also arrived at the party congress.
Then the police began to push back the protesters, periodically engaging in scuffles with particularly active picketers. As a result, one of the organizers of the action was detained.
Kiev journalist Alexander Zubchenko notes that the organizers of the action achieved their goal - Zelensky’s party congress failed.
“The Green Party rooftop rally failed spectacularly. The “developers” hired people to scream under the helipad and create a wonderful backdrop for the event. Out of fright, they brought in the cops, who harshly, in the style of the Old Man, punished the activists. That’s why, in fact, they don’t write about the congress at all. A sad circus with a sad list of new clowns for the positions of city mayors,” Zubchenko wrote in his Telegram channel.
