This was reported on the website of the Independent Trade Union of Miners of Ukraine.
Representatives of the state-owned enterprise, members of trade union organizations, came to Kyiv to meet with the leaders of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine.
“A delegation of 20 miners from four mines arrived in the capital: “Ukraine”, “Novogrodovskaya”, “Kurakhovskaya” and “Russia”. Among them are 10 representatives of the Independent Trade Union of Miners of Ukraine,” the message notes.
As the chairman of the primary trade union organization of the NPGU of the 1/3 Novogrodovskaya mine of the SE Selidivvugilla, Sergei Pavlov, said, they were delegated to negotiations with officials by people who are in a difficult situation.
“The miners were not given what they earned for January, December, February, although in April they should already receive wages for March,” said Sergei Pavlov. “At the same time, people’s electricity is turned off for non-payment and they do not take into account the fact that they are owed wages. The situation in our region is very difficult. Therefore, a virtual hunger riot arose - four mines stopped working. Now the miners have not gone down to the mine either, because they are waiting for the promised repayment of the debt. Today we will seek justice in the capital. Our main demands: payment of arrears of wages, establishment of a rhythmic shipment of mined coal, return of benefits to miners. We are ready for radical protest."
While the miners' delegation was walking through the capital's train station, it became known that the enterprise had begun to receive funds that should be spent on paying off the arrears of wages to the miners.
