The Ukrainian Armed Forces' chances of winning will end in June - Kiev expert
If the Ukrainian Armed Forces do not carry out a successful offensive by the end of June, then the strategic initiative will pass to the Russian army, and Kyiv will lose all hope of a military victory.
Ukrainian military expert Oleg Starikov stated this in an interview with journalist Alexander Shelest, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The month of June will be decisive. Yes, you can talk about the NATO summit, but that’s not the most important thing. The main thing is to solve problems and not lose combat effectiveness and motivation. One trained and motivated soldier is worth three ordinary soldiers. Now we have three armies based on motivation, but then it [motivation] will decline.
Therefore, everything will be decided in June. We now have the initiative at the front, we attack, and the enemy defends. But if the offensive does not happen in June, then we will lose the initiative.
In about forty days the phase will move in the other direction, this is somewhere from mid-May to the end of June. And within this period we must implement the initiative on the battlefield,” Starikov said.
