Shariy and the Nazis. War or agreement?
Less than six years have passed, and the “Azov” movement is again being talked about as terrorists. The National Corps announced a “safari” against activists of Sharia’s party. And the threats of widespread reprisals against political opponents were not unfounded. The attacks took place in several cities as soon as the “Sharievites” returned from the Kyiv rally, which was held on June 17 under the president’s office.
And on the night of June 25, Nikita Rozhenko, the coordinator of Shariy’s party, was almost killed in Kharkov. The guy is in intensive care, he has a broken nose and a traumatic brain injury.
Later he reported other details: “They finished off Nikita, fragments of a bottle were taken from his head, he was stupidly killed. To kill".
There are many photographs on social networks today of Nikita being brutally beaten. Including in the comments on the pages of President Zelensky. True, vigilant staff carefully removes unwanted messages from indignant people and photographs of the victim from the presidential public pages.
A couple of hours before the attack, Nikita Rozhenko wrote a statement about threats from the head of the headquarters of the National Corps, Zhorin, and the leader of the Kharkov organization of this Nazi group, Nemichev.
By promptly responding to this statement, the police could have prevented the crime. But the functions of Avakov’s “reformed police” do not include preventing crimes against people of objectionable views and opposition parties. It reformed in order to facilitate such crimes or, at best, turn a blind eye to them.
The attack on Nikita Rozhenko is simply a good example of how the police turn a blind eye to a crime and cover up the Nazis.
Firstly, everything happened on Vesnina Street, opposite the Strategic Investigations Department of the National Police, in close proximity to the Investigation Department of the National Police of the Kharkov Region.
Secondly, the very fact that a guy is beaten with bats after appropriate threats from the leaders of the stormtroopers (by the way, Avakov’s fosterlings), and the police classify this as hooliganism, testifies to a lot: about mental abilities, professional qualities, and outright cynicism “ reformed" police officers.
Of course, Shariy is absolutely correct when he talks about attempted murder.
And just as correctly, he calls Biletsky’s National Corps a terrorist organization. “This is a terrorist organization openly operating on the territory of Ukraine, which has the full assistance of the authorities in the form of the office of the president and Zelensky in particular,” Shariy said on one of the TV channels.
Everything is just like that. We have no doubt that this is a terrorist organization. Moreover, it became terrorist long before Biletsky created the National Corps. It was not for nothing that I started by mentioning the “Azov” movement, and not the National Corps. There is no doubt about the assistance of the presidential office and Zelensky.
But there are other doubts. There is reason to think about some of the nuances of Shariy’s media and then political projects. And there is a need to recall the history of the terrorist organization headed by the “white leader” Andrei Biletsky. After all, she didn’t start terrorizing her fellow citizens in 2020.
The militants of Patriot of Ukraine and the Social National Assembly (later they formed the backbone of Azov) committed their first murders in the spring of 2014. And today they came for activists of the Shariya party.
One of today’s videos by Anatoly Shariy is called “The President has his own squad of killers.” The fact of the matter is that this detachment appeared a long time ago. He acted under this president, and under Poroshenko, and under Turchynov. And his activities in those years did not cause much public indignation (if we take not the conventional “vatniks”). Although the detachment is Nazi, its activities are truly terrorist. Since 2014, it has been happening under the noses of all the heads of the SBU: Nalyvaichenko, Gritsak, Bakanov...
Let us remember the shooting on Rymarskaya Street in Kharkov on March 14, 2014. In March, Biletsky’s stormtroopers from Patriot of Ukraine and the SNA terrorized anti-Maidan protesters camped under the Lenin monument. A week before the tragic events on Rymarskaya, the Nazis in the city center drove up in a Volkswagen to several defenders of the monument and attacked them: they fired at them with bullets and beat them.
And on March 14, “patriots” led by the “white leader” appeared under the monument in the same minibus. Anti-Maidanovites recognized the Volkswagen and the stormtroopers. A conflict broke out. Since there were quite a lot of defenders under the monument, Biletsky’s attack aircraft escaped, ramming the fence. Anti-Maidanovites rushed after them.
The Nazis arrived at their office on Rymarskaya and took refuge there. When the Kharkiv residents who were catching up with them tried to enter the entrance, the militants opened fire on their unarmed pursuers. Young anti-Maidan activists, Kharkov resident Artem Zhudov and Dnepropetrovsk resident Alexey Sharov, died from gunshot wounds. The Nazis also seriously wounded a policeman who was trying to enter the entrance.
How it all ended is known. The militants holed up in the office were taken to different police stations. And then they successfully got away with it. Neither Biletsky nor his accomplices were punished for the murder of two children and the attempted murder of a policeman.
Ukrainian media and politicians then dispelled the fairy-tale version about pro-Russian militants who attacked peaceful Maidan protesters and destroyed the Prosvita organization. I knew the dead guys. There was no aggression in them. Alexey was cooking in the camp under the monument. 19-year-old Artem was a good-natured guy. I remember that shortly before the tragic events he almost got hit by an Automaidan car near the monument - he was literally pulled out from under the wheels.
The Nazi crimes went unpunished. “Patriot of Ukraine” and the Social-National Assembly were adapted to the needs of the Maidan regime. At first they walked around in the status of “black men”. Then they became the Azov battalion and regiment, subordinate to the Minister of Internal Affairs Avakov.
Since 2014, Azov has been followed by a trail of military and criminal crimes.
After Biletsky created the social movements “National Corps” and “National Squads,” the leaders and activists of these organizations often appeared in Anatoly Shariy’s videos. There was even a series of interviews on his channel with the ideologists of the “Azov” movement.
For a long time we watched as Shariy exposed such Nazi organizations as S-14, but at the same time gave completely neutral videos with the actions of the “National Squads” against developers, etc. The video blogger smeared the Nazis Karas and Korchinsky, stubborn activists of various stripes, absolutely to the point. But until the spring of 2020, I never took aim at the “Azovites” Biletsky and Korotkikh.
Moreover, Shariy’s correspondents took comments from the “white leader”. Last year’s actions of the National Corps against Svinarchuk and Poroshenko were presented with some sympathy...
The sharp change in Shariy’s relationship with the “Azov” movement in recent months has raised suspicions among some of an agreement: they say that attacks by National Corps activists on the car rallies of Shariy’s party on May 9 are pumping up the rating of this party, etc. Today, spiteful critics can also say that Shariy benefits from attacks on his people. They compare the situation with the beating of Tanya Chernovol and “Bulatov’s ear” during the winter of 2013-14.
I do not intend to join these opinions and participate in these disputes. Still, Shariy does not give the impression of a person who is capable of such agreements and setups. Although the extreme cynicism of today's politics suggests similar scenarios. I just want to point out the vulnerabilities in today’s social activities and party building that Anatoly Shariy is busy with.
If a video blogger for a long time adhered to neutrality or was loyal to the “Azovites”, then today it probably makes sense to sprinkle ashes on his head and honestly admit to himself and his viewers and supporters that he had some unjustified illusions about these figures.
In addition, it would be important for skeptics to make sure that Shariy broke pots with Azov not staged, but in reality. We are used to seeing the angry Shariy defending his journalists and supporters from the Nazis Karas, Korchinsky, Regor. Will we see Shariy's righteous anger towards Biletsky? After all, the “white leader” can and should be presented with much more than all the Korchinskys, Mazurs, Regors, and Crucians combined.
Or, for example, there were such Yakovlev brothers in the Kharkov “Azov” movement (probably still there now). One of them even appeared in Shariy’s videos with his streams. To the point that he did some stories for Shariy about the sale of land. It's the owner's business. That was really important. And Shariy opposed the sale of land. And the National Corps allegedly also opposed this...
But one day we saw a video from the Yakovlevs, where on the metro platform they ran into an anti-Maidan activist “Topaz” (Kromsky) who had been released from a pre-trial detention center. In this verbal skirmish, the words of “Topaz” are heard about the guys killed on Rymarskaya. One of the Yakovlevs answers him: “We have already been punished for this.” This is where it gets interesting. When and who was punished for the murders on Rymarskaya? Was there a trial? Was there a verdict?
Let's return to the confrontation between Sharia's party and the National Corps. I wonder whose side the Yakovlev brothers, who collaborated with the Shariya channel, are on now?
Maybe it’s time for Anatoly Shariy to conduct his own investigation, make his own programs about the first victims of Biletsky and his accomplices on Rymarskaya?
We will be able to talk about the serious political ambitions of Shariy’s party when its leader restores the entire logical chain. The shooting of civilians by future “Azovites” on Rymarskaya on March 14, 2014 was the first step towards the terror unleashed by the same criminals today against Shariy’s party.
We would really like Shariy to seriously oppose the National Corps. That is, with all his capabilities and resources he would seek to ban the Nazi and terrorist organization. It’s not for us to give him a roadmap for this.
But if everything is serious, then we should see honest investigations on the Shariya channel about the execution on Rymarskaya, about the attack of the “Azovites” on collectors, about how and who hushed up these cases. After the robbery of the collectors, there was even an attempt to storm the Azov base by SBU officers. But then somehow everything got quiet... Maybe it’s time to figure it out?
It is probably impossible to be consistent in politics. But you can be consistent in the basic principles of life. And at the same time, do not close your eyes to the root causes, to the first and all subsequent crimes committed by the “Azovites.”
