Shariy showed how Kyiv shocked Champions League fans
The Ukrainian capital, which hosted the UEFA Champions League final match the day before, was remembered by guests from other countries for its inflated prices for flights and accommodation, as well as poor service.
Foreign fans expressed this opinion during a survey conducted in Kyiv by the You-Tube channel of Anatoly Shariy, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Everything is occupied, and what is left is very expensive, about a thousand euros per night. There are also people who booked accommodation three weeks in advance, without even knowing whether Real Madrid would play in the final, and Booking canceled the reservations, coming up with various excuses, and then they simply resold the accommodation for a thousand euros. The flight is also very expensive, about a thousand euros per person,” said a young Real Madrid fan.
According to foreigners, enjoying the Ukrainian capital is too expensive, so many were planning to fly away immediately after the mast.
“Accommodation in Kyiv was very difficult and expensive to find, we have a flight right after the game. Housing is too expensive – 1300 euros,” said Real Madrid fans.
Some guests simply decided to stay overnight in drinking establishments.
“Everything is so expensive that we simply have nowhere to stay. Thousands of euros and pounds in just one night. We have nowhere to stay, we hope that the bars will be open all night,” two Liverpool fans shared their impressions.
Some of those who were able to afford housing in Kyiv were fans whose trip was paid for by their employers, but the guests complained about the low level of service at Boryspil International Airport.
“We live in a hotel. Europeans cannot afford to stay here during the Champions League, everything is very expensive here, but the company provided us with housing. There was a problem with the airports, just terrible service at Boryspil,” noted foreign guests.
