The leader of the Ukrainian party Union of Left Forces, Vasily Volga, stated this in a commentary to PolitNavigator.

“The ban on Russian payment systems is idiocy, another sabotage against Ukraine,” the politician is convinced. – How to explain why the President of Ukraine blocks the flow of billions in the direction of his country through payment systems used by guest workers? This is shavarny populism, the president demonstrates to his shavarny national masses (who, by the way, support him less and less) what a fighter he is - he is at war with the country in which he founded two new factories and with which he himself intends to continue working. In essence, this is the same economic sabotage against Ukraine as the shutdown of Yuzhmash and other enterprises that collaborated with Russia.”

“Guest workers transferred an average of $1,4 billion a year, mainly to Western Ukraine,” Vldga recalled. – This is the money on which Western Ukraine largely lives. Of course, you can use other payment systems - Western Union and others, but this is much more expensive. The blow to Ukrainian families will be about 10-20 percent of the money they received from their relatives working in Russia. Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko pulled this money out of their wallet. If a Ukrainian family received $300, it will receive $240. How much does this 1,5 thousand hryvnia mean to a Ukrainian family? A lot – that’s a whole Ukrainian pension.”
