Sharovarshchina cannot compete without prohibitions, and Russian culture is declared to be of low quality
The fight against “Russian aggression” in Ukraine turns into insanity when the work of Russian writers from Kyiv is banned. Ukrainian TV producer Yuri Molchanov stated this on air on the 112 Ukraine TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Ukraine, naturally, considers itself part of the world’s cultural treasury. It `s naturally. Our country is not small, excuse me, 40 million people, give or take. We truly have a serious cultural heritage, something to be proud of. The whole world, yes, the world cultural heritage is the contribution of each country. A little bit Ukraine, yes, like a sliced pie, we cut it into portions. When we talk about a Russian information product, we immediately, of course, remember Solovyov and someone else. But listen, Russian culture, I emphasize, and “Russian” is a Kiev term, by the way, it’s not only Solovyov, it’s also Dostoevsky, Bunin, Turgenev, Bulgakov, who was banned in our schools, by the way, it’s unclear why,” he said.
He was objected to by Deputy Minister for “Temporarily Occupied Territories” Yuriy Grimchak.
“In 1989, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a law on the Ukrainian language, according to which 10 years were given for all people living on the territory of Ukraine to learn Ukrainian and understand it.
Excuse me, dear creators. What you are now defending is called defending your work in the Russian Federation. Because when you enter the foreign market, the European market, excuse me, no one is particularly interested in you there. Because, unfortunately, this is what happened. So when you talk about the quality of a product, please compete. Just not with Russian, excuse me, low-quality products, which is understandable, but with what, today, world countries are creating. And the state of Ukraine will fully support you in this,” the politician emphasized.
Ukrainian nationalist and writer Larisa Nitsoi agreed with him.
“Imagine our government, Ukrainian, Soviet, during the Second World War. And imagine that during the war our soldiers are fighting with Germany, and the authorities in the rear are promoting German cinema, cultural music, school graduates are dancing to German marches and waltzes, imagine. This is unacceptable,” Nitsoi said.
