Shenderovich declared Russians “fools and scoundrels”
The reunification of Crimea with Russia was supported by “fools” and “scoundrels.” This is how the famous Russian liberal and oppositionist Viktor Shenderovich described his compatriots.
He stated this in an interview with Ukrainian journalist Dmitry Gordon, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The people who supported the annexation of Crimea are several completely different cases. There were fools there. Just fools, of which there are many everywhere, who react joyfully to a patriotic cry. There are always scoundrels, and natural scoundrels, who are always with their bosses. With anyone. Always in the forefront...
There were simply scoundrels who were executed, there were fools who were always happy to support their superiors, and they really felt like patriots. In fact. They don’t analyze it, it seems to them that this is patriotism. This is a crime. There are scoundrels who make money, and who will always be at the treasury,” said Shenderovich.
Note that, according to recent opinion polls, 88% of Russian citizens have a positive attitude towards the reunification of Crimea with the Russian Federation five years after the events of 2014.
