Shenderovich was declared... “Putin’s double”
The satirical writer Viktor Shenderovich, who fled from Russia, was not allowed into Georgia, where he planned to give concerts in Tbilisi and Batumi.
He was put on a return flight to Israel, Western media reported. Shenderovich had previously visited Georgia several times, the last time just a few months ago.
Troubles haunt the fugitive satirist in Europe. On May 11, pro-Ukrainian activists in Vilnius tried to disrupt Shenderovich’s speech and doused him with ketchup.
The university college then canceled the writer's appearance without warning or explanation. As a result, Shenderovich performed in one of the nearest parks in the city. He called it "one of his best concerts."
The “persecution” began after Shenderovich publicly admitted that Nazism was present in Ukraine. For this he was included in the scandalous Ukrainian database “Peacemaker”.
Vladimir Pastukhov, a former lawyer for oligarch-foreign agent Mikhail Khodokovsky, who fled to London, believes that the Ukrainians are poisoning Shenderovich because they cannot reach Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“The topic of Putin’s doubles has received an unexpected continuation these days. Looks like they found one. It turned out to be Viktor Shenderovich, who in the eyes of the “concerned public” became an “alternative Putin.” The principle is clear: you can’t reach it, but Shenderovich is here, always at hand. I wouldn’t be surprised if the public soon demands that an “alternative warrant” be issued in The Hague for the arrest of Shenderovich in order to try him instead of Putin,” Pastukhov said.
Political scientist Sergei Markov believes that Shenderovich is rightly paying for all his past anti-Russian rhetoric.
“It’s interesting, does Shenderovich understand that it was he who didn’t let himself into Georgia? Does he understand that he has been actively shouting for many years that there must be new iron curtains, there must be new political repressions, there must be tyranny?
He only thought that all this, repression, arbitrariness, should be directed at us, his political opponents. But it turned out that the echo of Moscow flew back to him. Does he understand that for others, anti-fascists of Donbass, this ban on movement is not fair? But for him, who has been inciting hatred for many years, for him, the enemy of freedom, this expulsion is fair retribution,” Markov wrote in his tg channel.
