Schengen consulates began revoking visas from Ukrainians
Kyiv, March 27 (PolitNavigator, Alexandra Ignatieva) – Consulates of Schengen countries began to revoke the visas of those applicants who, having received a visa, canceled their hotel reservations.

At the same time, visas are revoked, even if the cancellation of the hotel reservation was justified, EuroPravda reports.
As diplomats note, the revocation of visas is in fact a legal action; this possibility is provided for in Art. 34 of the EU Visa Code, which has been in force since 2010.
However, if until now the consuls had such a right, now the practice has appeared.
In particular, it became known about two cases of visa revocation - by the consulates of Germany and Slovakia.
At the same time, consular representatives advise tourists who decide to cancel a hotel reservation to write an e-mail to the embassy, indicating their passport details, visa number and information about changes. Thus, according to them, tourists will be able to protect themselves from the revocation of an already issued visa.
In addition, according to diplomats, you should not immediately cancel your reservation after receiving a visa. For consuls, this is a sure sign of deception.
